Meant to grab a Rochefort 10 but forget. I'll grab that tomorrow, think it will go well after dinner tomorrow (planning on lamb loin chops but that may change)

...oh yeah and some Theobroma for dyz. (check your email)

Yay Theobroma.

Sitting down with a bottle of Lagunitas Maximus. I'm trying to clear out some of my IPA's as a) they don't tend to age as well as others, and b) I want to try some new IPA's out like the 8wired I just bought, Phillips Amnesiac, Alley Kat Double Dragon, Paddock Wood Loki, etc.

I have tried the Tripel Karmeliet, and fully agree with your assessment of it. I'll keep my eye out for the De Ranke Guldenberg. Tripel's are fast becoming one of my staple beer styles.

On other beer related news, got a call from my sister and she's picking up several new ones for me. Founders Red's Rye, Porter, Dirty Bastard, and Backwoods Bastard. Also some Stone Ruination IPA, Grand Teton Bitch Creek ESB, and one other I can't remember at the moment. Might be a Lagunitas brew, I know I asked her if she saw their Brown Shugga, but that one was a negative. Anyway, looking forward to the others.

NWO, gimme some names of those porters you drink. Not a fan of oatmeal stouts at all (you have to drink them with a fork) but I'm looking for some some full bodied, possibly quads, or chocolates for the snowy season.

I've been doing some looking to see which of the brands I like are available in your area. Unfortunately doesn't look like many, but I'll list them just in case you would get lucky and find some.

Samuel Smith's Taddy Porter <- this one I'm very confident you can find, which is a plus since it's the best of a very good bunch.
Blvd Bully! Porter
Deschutes Black Butte
Stone Smoked Porter
Left Hand Smoke Jumper
Avery New World Porter

I'm drawing a blank on some others at the moment. I suppose I need to start keeping a notebook listing which beers and styles I've tried. There's been so many some just get lost in the sheer numbers.

As far as Quads, I'd highly recommend Rochefort 10 and Blvd Sixth Glass. Blvd also does a seasonal variation of Sixth Glass called Bourbon Barrel Quad, which is just what the name implies. Very tasty! A few others would be Schlafly Quadrupel, The Reverend by Avery Brewing, Sierra Nevada Ovila, and Deschutes The Stoic.

The Blvds...those are the ones I remember you talking about. Thanks, brother, very nice list.

Now if only I could enjoy them while watching a game.

It might make watching some of those Bills games easier. But yeah I know what you meant though. Someday I will get to watch the Stars and Wings and enjoy tasty a brew along with it.

Guys, I just saw that 8 Hopwired in my bottle shop. It's $10 for a 500 mL bottle..expensive. Is it worth it?

I'm currently enjoying a Whistler Brewing Chestnut Ale with the wife.

Get this - De Ranke Guldenberg is better than Tripel Karmeliet.
