Im a Rangers fan and I think Kreider but also Nyquist can be superstars.
Kesler is obviously proven but I have to pay a price for these guys. Worth the risk? if NOT, another suggestion as to who I should offer up for both? (team in my sig)

This may be out of left field, but I would ask why you are pursuing other F when that and your D are already strengths? I'd pursue a G in your situation....if this a two step process, get some good prospects and tempt another owner for another established G? If anything needs to happen with your F, it would be trying to upgrade Leino, MacArthur, Backlund.

I wouldnt go after Kesler, I just dont like his injury proneness right now. He plays a wreckless, physical game and its finally catching up to him. I'd go after him after he proves he can play a full season or two after the surgery(s) he's had in the last two years.

Who are you dropping to make room for the extra player coming in?
I think you need to be careful with the notion that Kreider and Nyqvist could be superstars, for the simple reason that most guys just don't end up being as good as they could be. This isn't necessarily a bad deal if you are scared by Kesler's injury situation, and question whether he can continue his style of play into his 30s, which are fast approaching. Just bear in mind the fact that those two potential superstars could end up being 60 point guys, and remember that while you are only trading away one player, you are still giving up two in order to make roster space. |
