Heh, they may have Westvleteren, I honestly didn't take long to look as I didn't want a parking ticket from my unpaid meter.

The Fat Tug sure is hoppy... works your tongue like a cougar on ecstasy.

Fat Tug is one of the best, easy to get your hands on IPA's in the Lower Mainland. At under $5 a bomber...just can't beat it. Let me know what you think of that Fresh Hopped Green Reaper, Loch.....I just finished one of myself...nice!

Did you locate that Bear Republic, Racer 5 yet? Get on it!

I've lived in Milwaukee for a year and a half now, and Founders is far and away the best brewery I've sampled. They have a fantastic Breakfast Stout, Porter, IPA, and Double Trouble (Double IPA). Probably my favorite brewery right now.

One thing to be said for Victoria's high cost of living and property values... they apparently have good beer availability as a side effect.

I might stick with Red Racer and Inversion over the Fat Tug... they just are a little more laid back (and come in normal size cans and bottles).

The place that carries Bear Republic is a little out of the way (ok, a 15 min drive) and with being busy at work I haven't made the trek yet.

Agreed that Fat Tug is indeed aggressive in it's Hops profile. Laid back is a good way to describe Red Racer, Inversion, and even Switchback. Trust me, 15 min is not too far too seek out that Racer 5...a lot smoother than Fat Tug, but still pack's a nice hoopy punch.

Oh yeah, forgot about Switchback (how can I leave out the local boys??)

... the Fresh Hop from Phillips is going down well and apparently Driftwood does a Fresh Hop that is as good or better than the Fat Tug, though scarce is supposedly an understatement for it. Maybe the Driftwood Brewery has some (it is between home and work).

Yeah, Driftwood's went out about a month ago, and I'm betting you won't find it untill next year. It's this one:

http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/18858/53309

I managed to pick up 2 (there was a two bottle limit and it sold out on the 1st day). Maybe you'll get lucky?

Downing my Arctic Panzer... very grapefruity and smooth! I like it a lot. Don't notice a lot of pine that the IPAs are reknowned for.

I love the single IPA's, but I find some of the doubles just are too much on the ol' alcohol meter. I bet the Panzer's a beauty though. Haven't you already pounded through the Founder's? Might be a rough Sunday morning Maya?

All Loch's talk of the hoppy Fat Tug IPA caused me to open one up myself.

Yeah, had five of the Founders earlier then swapped my last one for a New Glarus Bock with my roommate. Knew I was getting ripped off, but he's a good guy and wanted to do him a favor. The Arctic Panzer is a beaut, recommend it highly to you IPA freaks. You don't notice the alcohol AT ALL. Very impressive.
