Default Full season Lockout team strategy?

So going back and forth in our league's message board is dealing with the possibility of the whole year being locked out. In which case the general consensus is that we'll do our full regular draft & use that same team for the 2013/2014 season. Then we'll just do a small lotto type draft for guys like MacKinnon.

So as my team is mid re-build and quite young I'm thinking about just going heavy on rookies cause they'll be getting seasoned throughout the year. Think this would be worth sacrificing some depth in proven players in the 2013/2014 season?

Another variable is our league goes from 12 keepers to 6 for the 2014/2015 season with a possible expansion draft of 2 teams. Then goes back to 12 keepers for 5 years...ect....ect...

Just get 6 elite-keepers.

Giroux, RNH, Skinner are 3. Good start.
Duchene could be the 4th if he bounces back.
Pietrangelo looks fine for me as your 5th.

So do I understand correctly that you guys will draft soon and that will be the team that you will take into the next season except for a mini-draft of first year players from the next NHL entry draft? Then you will drop down to 6 keepers the following year for one draft with the expansion to 12 teams?

I guess for me it would depend on if there are any really stacked teams in your league right now - if the talent in those 108 other keepers is spread out over the other 9 teams, then I might be tempted to draft producers in hopes of cashing in next season and then see what you have for your 6 keepers at the end of the day. Your approach really doesn't create better keepers necessarily, when you only get 6. I guess a bunch of young guys would be like tanking for a better pick though.
