Discuss players who seem to be increasing their fantasy relevance with their performances in the AHL or overseas!

Nino Niederreiter.
The heavy ice-time, top minutes, and production in the AHL should really do wonders for his confidence. 2013-14 should be a nice breakout for him with the Isles.

I wouldn't even bother looking at players' European stats to be honest. They will all have good stats, and it doesn't really show you much for the non-star type players since all the leagues except for the KHL, SEL and SM-Liiga are much weaker. Even those leagues might skew player values with inflated stats, like Craig Smith for example.
As for the AHL, still too early to say. |

I agree with the Niedereiter remark. I've been waiting out his development in my shallow 10 team keeper. He suffered last year and needs playing time. One of the few that any playing time anywhere would help.
Also, and oppertunity for Brodeur to recoupe after long playoff run. Though anything too long and he might seize up. Also think it's good for my Mueller.

It should be alright for guys dealing with head injuries or injuries that simply heal with time (as opposed to time and rehab methods). Crosby, Mueller, Horton, Latendresse, PMB, etc.
The AHL was great 8 years ago for plenty of NHLers, including Spezza and EStaal. This time around, I'm curious for what it means for Brayden Schenn, Niederreiter, Justin Schultz (little less steep learning curve than jumping straight into Edm), Baertschi. |
