My two starters are Howard and Rask. I want to pick up either Gus or Khudobin as my third goalie. The Cats are W, GAA, and Save%.

Who would you rather have? Rask's back up or Howard's?

I'm looking more for this season, if it happens but input for the next few seasons would work too.

Both teams are solid for wins. In this case I prefer the guy that doesn't have a track record of suckitis. Yes Monster was in Toronto, but it's not a given that he will ever do much in the NHL.

Have to agree with ed here - Gustavsson has not impressed me at all. Far better team in front of him now, but Boston is no slouch either.

While I do like Gustavsson for spot starts In Detroit, I think his ceiling is around 20 starts and the Red Wings are not the powerhouse they usually are. They are still a huge improvement over the Leafs though.

I see Khudobin getting around 25-30 starts as Boston never relies on a goaltender for 65+ starts. The Bruins still have a very good team so I think Khudobin is a much better option.

Gustavsson for me. I think a locker room full of Swedes will be good for him.

I still don't believe that Detroit is ready to hand the keys to Howard.
He hasn't done anything for them in the playoffs yet and they may try somebody else.
I agree the Monster looked bad in Toronto, but that was also a bad team and all the other goalies there recently have looked bad there as well.

A change of location can do wonders for a goalie.
I mean... how many people were high on Brian Elliott last year?
For goalies...
Location change = possible performance change.

In a shortened season, I don't believe that Boston will give Khudobin nearly as many potential starts - because they see Rask as their future.

That's the difference for me... Detroit is still willing to explore a potential different #1.
