I'm thinking some Lagunitas Little Sumpin Sumpin, Blvd Bob's 47 Oktoberfest and Reverb Imperial Pilsner, and finish off with some Stone Smoked Porter. Might even sneak in a bottle of Trois Pistoles.

Got to keep things reined in and spaced apart so I can keep my wits about me while I prep for my final draft of the season. And on that note it's back to work....

Speaking of breakfast stouts have you tried Great Divide's Espresso Oak Aged Yeti? Oh man that's a good one. Their traditional Yeti given a big bold shot of espresso. That'll get you jumped started...

Was down in the US last week so I grabbed some brews on my way home. Had 3 Deschutes beers tonight, the Black Butte Porter, Obsidian Stout and Jubelale. Enjoyed all of them and I can't wait to find some of their other brews; they have quite the list. Capping it off with one of my favourite beers, Dieu du Ciel's L'Herbe a Detourne.

There was a time when I thought breakfast beer meant pouring Bud over your rice krispies, or at the very least washing said rice krispies down with one. But there actually are beers designed to be drunk with breakfast....

There's more but those are the ones that come immediately to mind. Thank the craft beer industry for bringing this to reality.

Makes sense as there is already rice in Bud...

Actually it's three coins. A pistole was an old form of gold coin. And in addition to that it's also a city in Quebec, which in this case is the more likely use of the name.

Here's a little vid from the Unibroue website that explains the story behind this beer....
