I had a conversation with Jessica Quiroli today about Billy Hamilton and I figured I would share it with you guys.
She is a minor league baseball writer and here's what she had to say about what kind of player he could be. Mac: What kind of player do you think he'll be? Is he a speed only, run producer? I have a hard time figuring that out. Jessica: Since there was so much attention paid to his base stealing, his other numbers took a backseat. His 159 hits, 86 walks are also impressive. Mac: Very true, but not much power, right? Thanks for taking the time to answer, great to have some insight from a pro. Jessica: He has a number of weapons at his disposal. Overall, he's an excellent contract hitter, but has little power. He more than makes up for it with his speed. There you have it.
