As an Atlanta resident for 10+ years, it's incredible that the final piece of that 90s NL Dynasty is playing his final regular season game.
All he did was get a pinch-hit single and come around to score a run. A solid ending to an amazing regular season career. How better to finish your last game then by stepping on home plate & heading for the dugout!!! Here's hoping the Braves can make a run in the post-season! |

I have never been a Braves fan, but its nice to see players go out on their terms and not over stay their welcome playing for the all-mighty dollar.
Class act all the way.

When I was home (Canada) for summer vacation this year, I was flipping through my old baseball card binders (the ones where a page could hold 9 cards). I could only find ONE player in the whole book that was still playing in MLB... it was a Chipper Jones rookie card. It made me feel very, very, very old.

Now here's a player that has always played with class and was never a distraction to his team.. Glad he got a hit in his last regular season at bat, 2,726 hits is a huge accomplishment..
