I have Quick,Bryzz,Harding and I would like to add some insurance in nets. Varlomov and Backstrom can be had via trade.

Or I can grab free agents like Theodore,Thomas,Pavalec,Broduer,Dubnyk,Nabokov

Wins GAA sv% So. I will get tons of wins/So with Bryzz/Quick so I want to add someone who helps in the gaa sv% cats. Adding Backstrom would give me the Wild Handcuff.

I question the need for a trade with those waiver wire options. You could weaken your roster to fill a different need. I think that your best overall move might be to stand pat. Of course, context is everything. What are the offers on the table for each goalie?

I'd go Backstrom. Minny seems poised for a big season. And Backstrom will finally have a top Dman in front of him to help get him back to elite status

I would argue that for insurance / spot-start purposes there is no better option than Ondrej Pavelec. As we all know, Winnipeg has perhaps the greatest home advantage in all sports, and last season their home record (and thus Pavelec's home record) reflected that.

Pavelec at home last year:

36 GP -- 19W, 2.47 GAA, .917 Sv%, 3 SHO

Grab Pavelec and spot start him for home games. You should be golden.
