Default Voracek or O' Reilly

It's a 12 team H2H points league. Only F/D/G positions.

Goals (G) 3
Assists (A) 2
Plus/minus (+/-) 1
Penalty Minutes (PIM) 0.3
Short Handed Goals (SHG) 2
Faceoffs Won (FOW) 0.2
Hits (HIT) 0.3
Power Play Points (PPP) 1

I'm still trying to figure out point leagues... It seems Faceoff wins is a huge factor.

Based on last season your cats would give O'Reilly 152.4 points on faceoff wins ALONE.....

considering he only got 128 points with your cats from his 18g and 37a...O'Reilly all the way.

FOW is way overrated in your league but you gotta do what you gotta do

With FOW and only forward designations I'd find it very hard to go against O'Reilly here. His FOW add an extra 151 fantasy points lol. (Just thought I'd add that my math skills aren't that poor, Voracek had 7 FOW last year lol).

Edit: Ah looks like hockeyrobot beat me to it!

No lol I'm saying that we calculated different things. You calculated how many fantasy points O'Reilly with just FOW....I calculated how many more fantasy points O'Reilly had compared to Voracek in FOW.

Voracek had 7 FOW = 1.4 = +151 for O'Reilly.

I did that right right? lol

Hanzal is a money pick in a lot of multi category leagues. Great call.

Sometimes it's hard to jump on a move like this, but go with your gut and draft to your league scoring. Well that's what smart GMs do. Take O'Reilly here given the league format.

As an aside in my league we have a scoring setup much like you (except FOW is .1) however our guys only earn the points for FOW when they are locked in at the center or forward position. So in my league that makes a difference and I'd likely go with Voracek. However it's all about league format.

Funny how you just joined the league and already have a better grasp on player values. I hope you do well.

As for the trade - yeah even if O'Reilly's offense dries up a bit he should still outpoint Voracek. What were their fantasy points/game? That stat is likely more important than totals since it's a H2H league.

In general, it seems to me that you might be able to win your matchups using centres alone. Since it's H2H points, it doesn't matter where it comes from as long as the total points beat your opponent...right?

It would be interesting to see some 'top' wingers who don't take faceoffs compared to 'average' centres who are strong in that category. Any comparisons to share on a per game basis? How about Kovalchuk vs Bergeron? I would also be interested in seeing some FA skaters that take faceoffs and compare their per game production to other non-faceoff skaters owned.
