This is the 9th year of the league. In the first few years we had managers that wanted to really "dumb down" the goalie spots because they didn't want to put the time into looking into who was starting or who was good. It was so bad for a few years that they voted to only have one goalie start per night and you could only roster two goalies, period. Once a couple of those managers left, we wanted to add value to the nets.

Your point about the odd number of cats is a good one. I'll bring that up via our message board.
