If it was the same as your league and sig I would have taken St.Louis and probably Havlat. I know a lot of people have soured on Havlat but I haven't. |

St. Louis for me... RW are slim down the back end, C you could easily get a reasonable replacement who would produce similar numbers to Toews or Datsyuk anyways.
2nd half is a bit tougher... I think I might go with Stepan. The rest of them have big ?s Havlat is too injury prone, plus PIM and SOG probably don't really favour him all that much... Zajac a lot of his production was dependant on Parise, he might center the top line with Kovalchuk and Elias, but that's not a certainty. Perron has talent, but his situation is limiting, just too many quality scorers there that they're going to take points and ice-time off each other. I don't think there's opportunity for him to really be a breakout own. Stepan is probably the safest option, played all 164 games the last 2 seasons, pretty consistent as well posting 45 then 51 points. He also now has help with Nash there. I have a feeling they'll split Gabby and Nash into different lines. So one will play with Richards and the other with Stepan, so he should play with at least one quality winger.

For me, it depends on who you picked in the first three rounds. I know you can adjust later but if you already had a top RW and need a centre as I might go for Toews as he brings a lot of strength across the categories, where those in subsequent rounds will likely drop off. If you have a centre already then St.Louis is a good, safe option especially in the 4th as Gotlaid mentioned. But depending on your strategy you might go for best offense/highest offense and that is likely St.Louis. But it depends on your strategy/roster etc.
Even more so with the second group - they are all close so it depends on how the squad looks at that point. For example, if you start two per position and you've already filled one of those positions, then it's better to fill your positions of need. And the type of player can also depend if you go for multi cat strength, pure offense etc. I don't usually like giving rankings on players in different positions when other factors are involved. But my thoughts are hopefully of use for future drafts/mocks.

If I had to make those picks, I would take Toews and Perron.

I'd go Toews and Stepan.

Backes out of the first group for being a multi-cat stud and Zajac out of the second. Just have a feeling he'll return to form this year (or whenever they get to play again).
