Default Prospect Keeper Rankings

I was wondering if anyone would like to comment on the ranking of the following rookies (from a keeper perspective, based on Dobbers Jun23 rankings, adding in Price at Goalie):

1. Jonathan Toews C, CHI
2. Angelo Esposito FWD, PIT
3. Claude Giroux RW, PHI
4. Carey Price G, MTL
5. Bobby Ryan RW, ANA
6. Jakub Voracek C/RW, CBJ
7. Nicklas Bergfors, C/FWD, NJ
8. Logan Couture, FWD, SJ

Straight pts league (Fwd/D straight pts; G 2 pts for W, 3 pts for SO); I can only keep 6 of the 8 above heading into next season. Would you agree to try to trade Bergfors and Couture or to leave them unprotected for the rookie draft heading into next season? Or would you try to trade one or two of the higher-ranked rookies, to improve draft picks or keepers?

BTW - another thing to note about the previous post is that rookies can stay on the rookie roster until either:
- they are called up to the active roster after playing 26 or more NHL games (then they can\'t go back down to the rookie roster after that - but this is up to the owner on when to call up their rookies)
- they can stay on the rookie roster until they have played a max. 164 NHL games, then they have to come off the rookie roster (either promote to active roster, trade, or drop).

So theoretically, the idea is that the players with the most value will be early to peak or well on their way to peak in their pts potential (i.e. in their first 2 or 3 NHL seasons); if they take longer to develop into decent scoring threats (e.g. 4 or 5 years away), then they are not worth very much.

This is my concern with Bobby Ryan - everything I read is that he will take several years to develop into typical power forward-type numbers of 80+ pts or more. Should I dangle him as trade bait? With ANA signing Bertuzzi for a couple of years, he can either act as a playing role model for Ryan if Bert can get back to his heyday as a power forward, otherwise Ryan may take another step or two backwards in his development if he has a bad example to follow in Bert the way he\'s played in the past 2-3 seasons...

Also, are there any other rookies on this list that may take longer than 2-3 years to develop into solid pt-scoring NHLers?

I would drop Voracek and Bergfors. Voracek may be one of the closest of the bunch, but i think his upside as far as point production is not as high, i think he may be a defensive type. And Bergfors, besides being in the Devils system i believe he is pegged as a defensive forward as well. Just my opinion though! Keep an eye on Ryan, i wouldnt be surprised if he is traded.

I am a big Logan fan. I think this kid will do some damage in 2 years.

I like the order of your list and I think you should try and trade Couture...but I doubt you would get anything extravagent for Bergfors after his poor season.
