Fairly new to football pools, but I drafted my new H2H 12 team keeper the other night and I'm looking for a little help on how I did, and where to go from here.

We keep 5 a year, 1 QB 2 max on other posistions unless a rookie - applies for QB as well.

League set up weighs heavily towards QB, and then receiving/running RB

W/R - Mario Manningham

DEF - ARI
BN - Scott Chandler TE
BN - Jake Locker QB
BN - Dustin Keller TE
BN - Toby Gerhert RB
BN - Brandon Lafell WR
BN - Steven Breaston WR
BN - Alshon Jeffery WR

At first look, I think I'll drop some WR on my bench and pick up another QB and RB, but after that what else should I explore?

You're a contender for sure, and once you're in anything can happen. Ryan is a QB that can win you a championship, despite not being one of the top tier QBs. Rice arguably the best RB out there, at least top three. Turner, great #2 - to say the least.

I might look to going after an upgrade at WR. They're good, but in a PPR I might want to go after a Welker, Brandon Marshall, Garcon. If not there then maybe TE. I know the hyp on Tamme is huge, so I would use that hype to package him for Finley or Whitten, or take a shot at Hernandez. With everyone focused on Gronk, that could pay off huge for you.

Anyway, you're solid with nice depth and no glaring gaps (kickers...meh), so you're coming at any trade from a position of strength. Be picky.

EDIT: Do you start two QBs? If so keep an eye Freemn during preseason. Good #2, but I'm not that impressed by him.

Start: 2C, 2RW, 2LW, 4D, 2G

For a 12 team league that's pretty solid, for sure. Your base is good, you just need to get rid of some of the low upside guys and speculate a bit more on home runs.

Drop one of your defenses, drop or trade Chandler, drop or trade Keller, I think Breaston is someone you won't much use?

Obviously you need a kicker, and I'd check waivers for the great sleeper types I'm camping all over this year:

Kevin Smith, RB, Det

I think you need at least 1 or 2 other WR - because past your top 2 they get pretty questionable. What are the top available FA in QB, RB, WR, TE, etc.?

Also, check to see if Kaeding, Garrett Hartley or Jason Hanson are available for K spot - love all 3 as top 5-10 options this year and all have little bubbles where people may overlook them (age, injury, etc) so it's possible they're on waivers.

Your RBs are terrible. Gerhardt will never amount to anything, so you need to shore that up. However your Williams pick may be your saving grace if Stewart is bunged up bad.

Your backup wideouts in Breaston and Lafell may end up being your starters.

Rice was a great first pick , but to follow it with Nicks then one of Ryan/Bryant/Turner was negligible. You lost your draft in the third round.

He's a backup/Flex behind a gimpy AP. He could do a lot worse

Doubtful. Breaston is losing out to Baldwin. LaFell may in the end wind up starting over Meach but not at the outset.

I believe he said he was new to football pools, and where did he post the order? I missed that.

Turner will have a very poor season. Rice is awesome, for sure, probably wrong choice of words, but you need a better tandem than that one to win.

And Meachem will being passed by Lafell on DC by Week 1. His value was tied directly to his QB, crazy as that is with the way Brees spreads it around.
