I figure you guys would be interested in some "expert" insight as I was.
I emailed Jason Parks of baseball prospectus about Trout and this is what he said to me. "Mac, great question." "Without going into too much detail, here's my opinion on Trout and his high BABIP. Good hitters make their own luck. Sometimes they are too lucky. It takes several years to figure that out."

It's too early to tell what his average will be long term, but keep a 3 year window in mind as far as an accurate statistical prediction goes. I've never seen anyone get away with an insane BABIP for 3 consecutive seasons. 1 year or even 2 is plausible, but it has to even itself out eventually.
