I just finished up all the drafting for the upcoming season in one of the leagues I am in. Its a great league with a lot of solid people who know their hockey.
I would appreciate the DOBBERworld to audit my team and give me some opinions and options on how to move forward. The team in question is the St. Louis Blues. A few things to note... the players not in bold were the players I just drafted in a waiver draft. Also, I made a trade in the draft of JVR and the 1st overall pick (Niemi) for E Kane and a 5th round pick (Theodore). The league has 10 teams. At the end of season you keep 10 on the roster and 10 on the farm. The league is played as a Yahoo! H2H league. Here are the Stat Categories: Goals (G) Assists (A) Plus/Minus (+/-) Penalty Minutes (PIM) Power Play Points (PPP) Shots on Goal (SOG) Game Winning Goals (GWG) Shorthanded Points (SHP) Wins (W) Goals Against Average (GAA) Save Percentage (SV%) Shutouts (SO)

Need to know how many teams are in your league before I can really see where you would rank.
You're team looks very solid as you have a lot of great young players throughout your line up as keepers. The big question mark is goaltending which makes me question the trade of JVR + what would've been Niemi. I like E. Kane and I would've like the trade if you didn't need a goalie. Crawford might not even start next year and Lehtonen isn't the healthiest guy around nor the strongest in terms of production when he is healthy. You have a ton of strength in your keepers for skaters, decent draft depth as well for skaters but your goaltending is razor thin. I would be actively shopping for goaltending help. Weber for a goalie maybe? If Carlson steps up this year you will be slightly worse for defense (probably the position that matters the least based on your league stats) and much better in the net.

As for the trade, I don't really like it... I feel JVR is pretty equal to Kane in terms of production and potential. Losing Niemi (or not getting him) could be crucial for you this year. I doN't think Theodore will match last year's stats. Overall, your team looks solid but as 3rtpaper pointed out, your goalie situation is very shaky...

I just saw that you have Bachman on your farm: good move here, as you will most likely count on him if something happens to Lehtonen. Crawford is the enigma here! Any Hawk fans in your pool?

Forwards A
Defence A- Goalies B As much as I love Kane, I think you overpayed just slighty to land him. Your goalies sit a tad weaker then previous to the trade. Great crop of fwds and Dmen. Hope Carlson and Hedman break out. good luck

Very nice team, but with 4 scoring cats for goaltending I agree with the others, this is your weak point. Forwards and D are very solid but tendies are less than elite. I would agree with 3rt, shopping a Defencemen like Weber for an upgrade in net should be your first objective. If another team fits your requirement, meaning short on D and long on G, then go after it. Good luck!

I'm a pretty big fan of the team.
In terms of forwards, Tavares, Giroux, and Neal should all have monster (elite) seasons. Seguin and Patrick Kane are also poised for very solid numbers, and Evander has a good shot to continue to improve. I'm a huge Teddy Purcell fan, and he should continue to benefit from getting playing time with Stamkos and MSL. The other four could go in all sorts of directions, but I'm not a big fan of Plekanec, and Versteeg is extremely streaky. Gagner is one of the tougher guys to predict. I'm also unsure you can expect the same numbers from Michalek but I'd wait to see his linemates. I think the defense is actually pretty strong. Shattenkirk will keep getting PP1 time in STL. Weber might lose a little in terms of +/- without Suter, but will be even more of a focal point offensively if that's possible. Tyler Myers and John Carlson are both amazing candidates for bounce back seasons. I have Carlson myself and I'm looking forward to a jump in numbers. Hedman could go either way, but now has to deal with Carle and Salo in the offensive picture. Goaltending is questionable. I like Lehtonen and Dallas should have a pretty strong year. Crawford is a mystery, but if he remains Chicago's starter for the season, he should see a good amount of W's. Theodore should drop off a little bit this season, but figures to be the starter, assuming the Panthers don't acquire Luongo. If they do, Theodore loses all value (as he will either be a backup in FLA, or a backup in VAN). Really solid team overall though.
