This is for a keeper league where points are accumulated based on wins, losses (negative points), amount of goals allowed each game (nice bonus for shutouts), and assists. You can only play one goalie and basically have to ride them each month. I currently own Craig Anderson and Marty Brodeur. Should I be looking to deal one of them, is one a solid option this year, or should I be desperately looking elsewhere? This is a 30 team league with huge rosters, so nobody of note is available to pick up. My team is near the top of the league so this is a big position to feel safe about. All thoughts are appreciated.

I would definitely be looking to deal Brodeur. He is already 40 and cannot last forever. If you can get something back for him, then do it. My concern with waiting for the season to start is: 1. he may get injured, and 2. lockout (will he play the year after?). In a 30 team league, he should fetch something valuable.

I'd agree with SoG that you should definitely move Brodeur.
But good luck doing so in that league. You're about five years too late trying to move him. I would try to target someone who might be getting sick of waiting on Bernier, perhaps. You'd likely have to package someone with Brodeur, though.

Thanks guys. Do you think Anderson is safe enough this season? Consistency issues aside, I can't help but feel Ottawa overachieved last season, although Alfredsson's return is obviously a boost. But in a leauge where goals allowed in a game matters, I fear for a lot of 5-4 games.

I'll take Brodeur here, despite age. |

I don't have much faith in either Anderson or Brodeur, but far more faith in Anderson over Brodeur.

As far as Anderson goes, in a thirty-team league, beggars can't be choosers. Ottawa's GM seems ready to roll with him. Sure, I'd rather have King Henrik myself, but what are you gonna do?
