Just finished the Maredsous Brune. Good beer, but I am finding the label brown ale to be a generic term, not truly indicative of what's inside the bottle. The Maredsous Brune, DFH Brown Ale, and Ommegang Abbey Ale are all great but uniquely different beers.
In all honesty the DFH Brown drinks more like a quad than anything. The Maredsous is more similar to a Saison in terms of depth, but w/out the heavy corriander notes.
Right now I am onto the Steen Brugge Tripel. Along w/a hunk of gorgonzola my wife bought. Hope she didn't have plans for this...
