Enjoying some Hennepins. Always a nice fall back.
I don't have much experience with Whiskeys but I'll take a shot at describing it. I'll pick from the notes from those reviews on that whiskey exchange link that best describe it. The flavor is complex, very complex, spice cake, liquorice, honey, with a peppery note. That's the bit I can put my finger on, there's so much more to the flavor that I can't quite pin down.

The aroma, whoa, strangely it's the abiding memory I have of this one. As it warms in the glass, the vanilla aroma is absolutely enthralling. I had a long pause between the second and third sips because I just wanted inhale and savor that smell.

It's only the fourth Irish whiskey I've tried, but it outshines that Clontarf 1014 I had back at Christmas, and soundly thrashes Jameson and Bushmills. It's pricey, that 12-year-old Single Pot was $53. They had the 15 right next to it, and that bad boy fetches $90.
