I am really not sure. Not saying that he will return to his 60 goal self, but I will gladly accept anything close to 50. He is still a unique physical presence and when he shows up with some energy there is not much defences can do...the problem is that he has been coasting ALOT the last few seasons. I also think you are pointing to some other important factors with the decline of Backstrom. If Green and Backstrom can stay healthy again it will immediatly impact the production from Ovechkin. He now also has another good center in Ribeiro, so if the caps as a team can get going I think we will see 50+ goals from Ovechkin. He also has those Sochi olympics in Russia as an extra inspiration to improve.
