Check how many rookie AHL defenders scored 48 in their first 34 AHL games.
Schultz is in a different position than many normal rookie defenders. Not only does he have elite skill, he gets to quarter back the PP with a couple of 1st overall picks, and Eberle.
Unique situation for sure. Comparing player to player has it's cons, especially when your not addressing the situation either. I hate comparisons.
Schultz
should end up a top 10 defender in the league this year. And over the last 3 years that is a 46-49 point pace over 82 games. In 48 games that equates to 28 points.
If you think he is a top 5 defender, expect 33ish points. 28-33 is where I would predict his point totals this year.
At that is a lot, for a defender, who is a rookie....but given his situation and skill, its more than possible.
