If you're thinking about maybe giving him a few shifts then great, do that and let him have a little taste of the bigs. But otherwise send him down so he can continue to develop his game, sitting in the press box isn't helping him

I thought about this for a bit. I think the Wild feel he will observe and absorb some of the professionalism in practice and in the locker room. Not playing in games gives him a mid season break after a busy summer and fall, then the World Juniors over the holidays. He will be fresh for the 2nd half of junior, and in the meantime he will see the work he needs to put in and speed he needs to get acclimated to.
At least, that's my theory. Could be bullocks.
