Think that may be underselling him a bit. You think his upside is only besting last year by 4-9 points?
Some guys mature at different rates and under different circumstances. He was a first round pick and was supposed to be a stud in Toronto, but it just never panned out. He always had a great offensive game, but I thought he was going the Patty O'Sullivan route.
Flash fwd to today and he is with a coach that he really clicks with, has shown great chemistry with Staal (pretty sure they will go with whatever is most familiar in this compressed season, which combined with Ruutu's injury virtually locks him in that top line spot), and has been playing very well in Europe, so he'll come to camp ahead of the curve.
All in all, things are looking as good as they possibly can for Tlusty. No reason to think he won't thrive.
May be a little overly optimistic, as I am with every guy I snag off the wire, but I think he emerges this year.
