First, Ruff switches lines around like no one's biz. So pinning Ennis down for a full season is anyone's guess. Long term they ideally want Hodgson and Grigs as the top two centers, and Ennis back at wing. When that occurs is dependent on Grigs' development (and injury).

Last year, if I recall, Ennis was centering the third line (with Foligno) out of necessity - and performed rather admirably. He's far too talented for a third line role, and is better suited as a second line winger.

Ott is considered a center because of his face off ability, He could easily center the third line OR if the Sabres need more muscle up front he could be moved to the wing on line #2.

I think Foligno is more the wild card. If he can maintain his current level of tenacity + production throughout a full 82 games he could be elevated to the second line. Offense drops off and he'll fall back to line #3 - paired w/ Ott? - that would make for a nasty third line.

Win/Win all around if ya ask me.
