1984 - Never read any Orwell before. I definitely loved this book.

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone - Yea, I wrote it here. lol I read books 3-7 back after the first two movies came out. never read the first two, so I thought I fit them in from time to tim. I liked the series for what it is.

orwell fan. you might enjoy Homage to Catalonia, his account of time spent fighting with the poum in the spanish civil war. he ended up on the communist party death list, and barely escaped spain. several of his friends and fellow soldiers fighting the fascists were imprisoned, tortured, and murdered by the communists.

here is a link to orwell's essay on style. the man hated authoritarians in all forms. https://www.mtholyoke.edu/acad/intrel/orwell46.htm
