That said, I am growing increasingly indifferent towards the NHL and have moved on to awaiting the start of the baseball season. I really don't care if they even salvage part of a season at this point.

I feel that way too. I keep fluctuating between anger and apathy. I want to make a calm, interview-type youtube video where I explain what their (both sides) petty differences are doing to fans like me. I not only get angry and apathetic, I also get to the point where I think to myself "geez, I wasted how many years of my life being a devoted follower of these idiots? These greedy, selfish, short-sighted idiots..." And it makes me think that following competitive hockey is such a small and insignificant thing, when you look at the grand scheme of things. I guess it's kind of like idolizing your dad for decades only to finally grow up and realize he's been an alcoholic loser douchebag the entire time. Not that my dad was ever like that, but just couldn't think of a better analogy. lol
And then at the end of my calm explanatory video, I will smile and reveal a barrel in which I throw my Leaf jersey, soak it with lighter fluid, throw a slow motion match...and watch it burn. Fin.
Who's with me?! I'll get it started if I have others on board.
(p.s. no jokes allowed about "everyone should burn their Leaf jerseys anyway. " lol)
