Pavelec was actually ranked 15th in goaltender in his set-up (Mostly because he's a workhorse and faces a lot of shots). So, the fact that he could land a top20 fantasy player in his set-up without giving up any of his top players (Getzlaf,RNH,STaaL) is not a bad thing at all.
The flaw with this logic is that you're simply comparing fantasy points of two different positions over the course of a season, rather than looking at what effect Pavelec's points will have on his entire squad on a weekly basis, compared to what he is giving up/replacing. The fact that goalies are higher producers generally doesn't surprise me given the ratio of skater to goalie slots (18 to 2).
