Trying a bottle of this Dirty Bastard Scotch Ale from Founders. Gotta say it's thrown me for a loop. A most excellent beer, but seeing as how the only other Scotch Ale I tried was Claymore by Great Divide I don't have a lot to compare it to.
That said it's much smoother, not quite as full bodied, and has less of a peat-smoke flavor than Claymore. A perfect malt sweetness, nothing over the top, balanced quite masterfully with the subtle hop. If I didn't have to go all the way to KC to get it, it would become a staple beer in my rotation.
Highly recommend it to anybody who hasn't tried it yet.
