Love what you did there with the comparison! Thank you. I was very psyched about Backes being available in round 4! I'm not so proud of the end of my draft , there wasn't a lot left and I wish I had taken another LW after Kane.
As for my first pick, I was debating either Kovalchuk, Tavares or Perry. I went with Perry because he's a multi-cat stud and he can only improve from last year (IMO).
I could have drafted Kovalchuk in the 2nd round, but I felt like I had to take a goaltender. I'm pretty confident in Ward.. I had a toss-up between Pavelec and Varlamov and ultimately it came down to me thinking that Colorado will be a better team than Winnipeg this year. I was also quite surprise that Pavelec felt until round 7 in our draft ( I think Horrorfan drafted him there, great value pick)
