Not a huge surprise - I am curious to see what type of player he becomes. Reminds me a bit of Denis Gauthier - great skater, huge hitter, but lacks hockey sense. Ed Jovanovski type of player too, obviously he had a much better career than Gauthier.

He reminds me a lot of rookie Subban - reckless, raw and very talented.

Konopka said he reminds him of Karlsson in OTT. That's a pretty huge compliment.

He definately doesn't have Karlsson's skating ability which is absolutely elite. With that in mind, I think that if Dumba starts to work on his decision-making with the puck, he could end up being a very good NHL defenseman.

I don't see the comparison in the slightest. Dumba has natural gifts but lacks Karlsson's vision, hockey IQ, and decision making with the puck. Hard to learn that (though not impossible).

not just that, lets not forget that the guy making the comparison (Konopka) is not known for ANY of the previously mentioned skills

I wasn't trying to start a war, I was merely repeating what I read.

To be fair, did any of you see Karlsson becoming the player he is now at Dumba's age?
