I think it's only fair at this time to point out that both the matchbook and the grease pencil were obtained for the Isles by then GM Millbury,

who in a bit of last minute brinksmanship, insisted that they be included by the Florida Panthers along with Oleg Kvasha whom he was in the process of pilfering (along with Mark Parish) for the mere pittance of Olli Jokinen and Roberto Luongo. Two players who no longer fit his plans.

It was of course, only later that the Panthers discovered, much to their chagrin, that Milbury would have happilly made the trade anyway, and that they had in effect been suckered into giving away both the matchbook and the grease pencil for nothing.

In retropspect the trade has come to be viewed as one of the most lobsided in NHL history, and is still refered to today by thousands of adoring Islanders fans who point to it as one of Millbury's most successful deals.
