Barrie best do 15 points, thereabouts. Sorry, I'm not surprised. He's outperformed Elliott this year and last.

How do you compare Barrie and Elliott for points only?

Are they much close? Seems like on these boards Elliott has a huge edge over Barrie

Elliott still has huge upside, but it appears as though Barrie's game is more likely to make it in the NHL at this point. We still need to see how Barrie performs over the season (if he sticks) but I still would way rather own Elliott and his upside over Barrie.

How is it that you see Elliott's upside exceeding Barrie's?

I'm with Slufoot... I've never understood Angus being so high on Elliott.

He never put up great numbers until he was among the oldest guys in his junior league. Barrie at least showed he was differentiated against kids of similar age. For me, they both have upsides in the 40-50 range but Barrie has a more well-rounded game.

Fair enough. A 30-goal scoring defenseman tends to garner attention even in his senior year. I'm still a big Barrie believer (and owner) but I still think that if Elliott were to make it it would be because he's scoring a ton. Barrie, in my mind, is a sure fire NHL player but won't see the same upside that Elliott could reach. Based on ownership, I hope I'm wrong!

PS - don't think it was just angus who was high in this kid, he's been a pretty popular player across the boards, if my memory serves me right.

Absolutely. The roles could be reversed within 2 weeks. Opening night rosters are overrated.
