League in sig. Really racking my brain over this one.

Trade as proposed to me:

I give: Wilson, Johnson, Choo, Konerko

I get: Fielder, Reddick, 1st round pick in the re-draft (not sure what pick # this could be yet).

-As I see it, I lose 2 of my biggest arms and point producers as well as a real good OF but get one of the top hitters in all of baseball in return under my control for years to come.

-I have way too many pitchers (in fact I can't keep them all as per our rules - 1 has to go at a minimum right now), but pitching is huge in this league.

-Johnson's health? Wilson's health and age?

-Is Reddick going to be any good going forward?! He had a big month of May last year where I think he hit around half of his total HR's.

-Choo moved to Cincy. Should be a nice upgrade to his stats. Would hate to miss that.

-Is the 1st round pick going to be anyone worthwhile? No clue. Last year Brett Anderson, Profar, Bundy, Lorenzo Cain etc were grabbed during the re-draft. But maybe this year people have learned their lessons. I really won't have a solid idea until closer to spring training.

-Outfielders and starting pitchers are easy to replace. Elite 1B are difficult to find. If at least 1 of Bundy, Taillon and Skagggs turn into anything above average I'll probably be fine.

-I'm just playing out Konerko's retirement anyway.

It's an overpay but I'd say take the plunge! Fielder is the man in this trade and he's way better than anyone else here. Reddick had a great year and even though choo got traded to a great team I think reddick is worth the risk. Plus JJ hasn't panned out and CJ is aging. Plus you can't keep them all! And a hitter like prince is hard to get! That's my 2 cents.
Anyone else?

Not sold on Reddick, but I'd do this trade. You're getting the best player in the deal and the guys you're giving up are great, but Prince is spectacular.

I don't see this as overpayment for Fielder and Reddick, I think its pretty reasonable to be honest.

pretty much every keeper league owner wants to give pieces for a 1st rounder. I don't see this as an overpay or anything but a win for you. You said you have to lose a pitcher anyway, both are nice but neither are what we thought they were a year ago either.
If JJ & CJ have good years this can be a win-win deal, I think it is a win for you right now w/ no ifs...

Thanks guys. Think I'll move ahead with it. I managed to get him to give up his 1st round pick in the next 2 drafts during negotiations too :P Only thing left to do is officially purpose the trade.

It's funny, the more I look at it the more I think I'll miss Choo out of anyone I'm giving up. Let's hope Reddick has a decent year!

It's a steal for Fielder.
JJ and CJ are probably 2 of the most overrated SP.
Choo is a loss, but so what.

As much as I like the Fielder side, you're really paying full value, if not more; especially pitching is worth that much more in your league setup. If anything, I try and shop Wilson for one of his OF if you can't hold onto all your pitchers.

Otherwise, think I'm passing on this deal personally.

See this is how I was originally thinking about it too. And of COURSE the trade hit a snag (he doesn't want to include any picks all of a sudden).

So now it might be Sandoval for Butler, or back to Johnson for Goldschmidt (if that owner didn't want to constantly "expand the trade" and screw me). Another option proposed to me was Allen Craig for my Lucroy and Choo, which would be great until Konerko retires, and then I need to find another outfielder.

So the neverending search for a solid 1B continues.
