First thought, great deal. But then you go deeper, and these same guys made up the core of a team that went 69-93 last year. Obviously more to that, though, like how Ozzie Guillen sucks. Kind of like the Red Sox deal a few months ago.
Optimistic deals and signings in Toronto always disappoint in the end. Let's see if this is different.

Not to mention, its like they played most of their year with a Double A starting pitching rotation. Their bullpen was brutal (with the exception of Janssen who was outstanding once he took over the closer role) and if not for Encarnacion, this team would have been a bigger joke then they were.
This deal is massive. They gave up a lot in future pieces, but thats exactly what they needed to do if they want to make a serious run at a playoff spot this year.

been digging for info ever since i first heard about it 45 mins ago or so. completely stoked by the idea of adding JJ and Reyes to the Jays. i'm not a huge Buehrle fan and Bonifacio has durability to play all over the field but still Reyes is just right at the top of the order and JJ will get loads of K's if he can stay healthy.
the Fish basically sent anyone who is earning any money up north here. Loria is an idiot, he's always been an idiot and today i'm very glad that he is.
