Default Nash + Skinner for Stamkos

So I've had discussions with my buddy who owns Stamkos. After some loose exchanges, I've told him that both Nash and Skinner could be part of a package as the 2 main pieces going back to him and he seemed opened to the idea. He told me he would study it and could come back to me with something.

This is far from being a done deal, but just getting is attention is positive I think. Let's say the structure of it revolves around that, do you do it? How much more are you willing to put into the deal?

Thanks Dobber nation.

If I am him, I would not do Nash / Skinner for Stamkos as the main core of a deal. My guess is he'll come back to you with either a counter proposal or a rejection. If I am him my starting point is Backstrom + for Stamkos.

The starting point for me with Nash and Skinner would include a top prospect and top 10, 1st round pick. That'd still not likely be enough for me.

If I owned Stamkos, the start would be Nash and Staal minimum. Don't think that Skinner + Nash would be enough

Because it's a points only league and goals aren't weighted higher than assists I can see why the other owner would listen to Nash and Skinner. Without SOG, PPP, FOW and all the other usual stats Stamkos' value just isn't as high as people think. That said, there's no way I believe that he's going to take those two for Stamkos. If Nash gets 70 points and Skinner hits 60, and he drops a 40 point guy from his roster, then he ends about even with what Stamkos would provide. Not worth the risk. I definitely don't trust Nash or Skinner to hit totals over 70 and 60 points, respectively. Nash has never had team mates of this calibre, but he's also never had to share his ice time. Skinner has the same issue with the influx of Semin and J Staal. If he comes back with anything not involving Backstrom I'd be very tempted. I'd also happily include any of Pavelski, Desharnais, Fleischmann, Berglund, Setoguchi, Elliott, Timonen, and Visnovsky to Nash and Skinner. Sure, you'd lose ~180 points and only gain ~90, but you could pick up another 80 with two 40 point waiver guys.

If the guy has half a brain then it's going to take a lot more than Nash + Skinner.

As a Stamkos owner, it would take a lot more than Skinner/Nash to pry him away from me. A lot more, in any league format. Very few players are guaranteed locks for 80+ pts. A limited amount are guaranteed locks for 90+ pts. Stamkos is one of maybe 4 players in the league who can produce 100+ pts a season. You don't trade a player like that.

What he said. Not only that, he's 22. 60-goal 22 year olds (arguably not yet even in his prime years) don't grow on trees.
I own him, and I'm pretty sure I will never trade him. BUT if I did I'd want Backstrom and Rinne.

I own Stamkos in a similar league.
Even if you tell me to chose any 2 players from your roster (probably Backstrom and Staal), I would still keep Stamkos.
In a limited keeper league, the side getting 2 players will need to drop an extra player.
If he's willing to part with Stamkos, jump on that!
