I enjoyed being a part of it - humbled by writing with this group, great write-ups.
Totally agree. I was quite honored when Gates messaged me and asked if I was interested in contributing. As I noted in my article, I have never considered myself a writer per say. I love fantasy hockey and can talk about it for hours but to write about it is a different cup of tea.

Thanks to all who took the time to contribute. It was an excellent read for sure.

Quite impressive. I too received and invite to participate but frankly I was intimidated and didn't feel my hockey insight was up to snuff so I just sat silently on the sidelines.

Given the quality of work that was probably a good call.

I've had the pleasure of contributing once before and I can very much appreciate the effort it takes to put together something that hopefully people will not only find enjoyable to read but potentially useful in their own leagues.

Just to counter what I suggested before about consistency, it is still great to see different writer's styles - all of which have equal value and appeal - and showcases the variety of skills and knowledge on hand amongst our great community. This has truly reached the quality of the main guide, not only in substance but in it's highest quality.

I look forward to future editions.

Like you Loch, I often feel I don't have the insight and knowledge to hang with this crowd in any discussion, unless we're talking beer or music. When I gave Gates my article to proof read I let out a sigh of relief when he replied and didn't say what's this load of crap. That was replaced by abject terror when I saw the download on the main page this morning.

Those doubts did make it hard to write my piece, I was constantly questioning what I was writing and it makes it even harder. But now that it's done and in the hands of the Dobber community I'm feeling excited about doing more, if people want to read more. Having this behind me, if the responses are positive, I can actually relax and let the knowledge flow more easily. Not being hamstrung by doubt, the thoughts come more freely and it's oddly liberating.

You ought to give it a try next time Loch, if I can do it anybody can.

I tend to write from a more literary stance, which is why the Bruins and Sharks ones are different. I love thinking about themes and letting them roll. Hope people like that style as I didn't go for the direct roto-guide approach where you list a name and talk about them. Those are great and very informational for me and I loved reading all of them, I'm just a different type. So I hope people liked them. If not, just don't tell me. I'm a very fragile writer. ha ha.

Going back to Dobber's article about what it takes to run a fantasy site full-time, and I remember him mentioning that passion and dedication is more important than writing skills and being a hockey guru. So for those who felt intimidated, if you just have fun with it you should be alright. People can disagree but they will not call you stupid.

Plus, it's a great opportunity to test the waters if you want to eventually work your way into writing more frequently.

I too initially leaned towards saying no. In the end, I couldn't give a reasonable excuse with my no, so I went with it. Great opportunity for sure!

Great job with the rankings and compiling everything, Gates. Great job to all the other writers as well. It sure is a great read!

Looks like someone caught the Vancouver write up haha... what a ride that was.

Maybe next time we'll break triple digits!
