It's worth noting that a user's first post(s) must be approved by a moderator before becoming visible on the forum. This allows us to keep the forum more or less completely free of commercial spam. Once you have one post approved, you're cleared going forward. This may take a minute or a couple of hours depending on the time of day, but typically the wait time is closer to the former.

If you hit the "quick reply" icon (bottom right) of any post, it will take you to a smaller screen box and you will see icons:
B (this is the bold. Just highlight your stuff and click the B)
I (this is the italic. Just highlight your text and click the I)

There's also an icon of a globe with a chain link.
It'll take a little practice to use this one but you can take a internet site that is a zillion letters long and hide it inside whatever text you want... I'll use "Hockey" (the hidden website is the NHL dot com).

The reputation system was updated in May as changes were made with regards to how many posts/rep you need before you get rep power yourself, as well as how many rep points you need to get more rep power.
