Sky-Rocketing goal total

Steven Stamkos has all but clinched the Rocket Richard trophy at this point. His two goals last night were #49 and #50 which gives him a twelve-goal lead on runner-up Evgeny Malkin.

Walker New York Ranger

Awesome title that suits an awesome result. The New York Rangers continued their push to hold on to the Eastern Conference crown as they beat the Hurricanes 4-2. Marian Gaborik, Brad Richards and Carl Hagelin each had three points in the victory.

Don't have an orgasm yet Pierre, but...

Dustin Tokarski gave the Bolts something they have rarely had this season: good goaltending. He stopped 33 of 34 in a 6-1 win over the Boston Bruins. As a young goalie, he will be turned to often if he can continue this level of play.

Keith Aucoin

From the ramblings:

Quote:
Keith Aucoin, a career AHLer who posts big points at that level, picked up three at the NHL level for the Caps last night. In fact, he has seven points in his last eight games. As long as Dale Hunter keeps throwing him out there, he may be a nice little stop-gap solution for you.
Super Adventure Island

Travis Hamonic and John Tavares each had three points in a 5-4 shootout loss to the Washington Capitals.

Shutouts

Once again some H2H playoff match-ups hit major turning points as Ilya Bryzgalov and Kari Lehtonen both recorded shutouts.

DUDS

Faulty alarm again?

Tyler Seguin was held pointless and was minus-4 in a 6-1 defeat to Tampa Bay. Perhaps this would have been a good time for the alarm to let him sleep in as his stats would have looked much better if he stayed home.

Rusty Pickles

Marc-Edouard Vlasic was on the ice for all three Flames goals in a 3-2 overtime defeat. This may prove to be costly as both teams are involved in a tight playoff race in the West.

Has Byron Dafoe resurfaced?

Anyone remember when this guy was a main culprit in past Bruins teams failing to meet expectations? Well, the goaltending numbers suggest he may have resurfaced. Tim Thomas allowed two goals on five shots while Marty Turco allowed four goals on 12 shots. Six goals on 17 shots is just terrible.

Tim Connolly

Tim Connolly managed to finish minus-3 in a 5-2 defeat to the Florida Panthers in a key four-point game in the Eastern Conference playoff race.

Zach Parise

He finished minus-2 and offered next to nothing in peripherals.

Pulled over again... this time to the bench

Ray Emery allowed three goals on six shots in the first period before getting yanked in favour of Corey Crawford.

Other sub-par goaltending performances

James Reimer stopped 22 of 26 in a losing effort.
Jimmy Howard stopped 22 of 26 in a losing effort.
