Default Dump Miller for Bernier? One year.

Sadly, it comes to this... In a one year league, would you drop Ryan Miller for Jonathan Bernier?

Let's face it, Miller sucks this year. I hesitantly have him in my lineup tonight vs. Toronto. Bernier gets a lot fewer starts, but great stats on a defensive-minded LA Kings team.

I've tried to be patient about this, all the while keeping an eye on Bernier on my league's FA list. But now Bernier is now featured by Justin Goldman on his weekly article on NHL.com, which makes me want to say "Shhh! Shut up, you're drawing attention to the guy I'm looking at!".

Should I strike before it's too late? Hang with Miller until the trade deadline? Or until the H2H playoffs? Or see how he plays tonight before making a potentially rash decision? What's your call?

This is a tough choice! I would look at it like this: Buffalo has 18 games left and LA has 19. Miller will probably play.. 15 of those games perhaps unless Enroth gets on a streak. Bernier has seen a third of the action this year, if that continues maybe he gets into 6-7 more games. Obviously if you are thinking Bernier will get more time, how much more can be possibly get? Does the 2012 conn smythe winner play less than half of the remaining games this season? I think that's the question you need to answer - do you need 15 games with Miller or 6 (+?) with Bernier.

Pretty tough call... Each week has a three game minimum requirement. If I had Bernier + the Boston tandum, I guarantee myself the necessary three starts needed each week. However, with Bernier, I somewhat feel like I'm punting wins, in exchange for giving myself a much better chance to lock down GAA and SV%.

Haha, Miller is getting Starts, not wins.

This does make sense since you can get your required games through the Boston G's. Even if Bernier plays 1/3 the games of Miller I'd bet he closes out the season with the same amount of wins and far superior GAA and SV%. May as well do it, Buffalo isn't getting any better.

PS, I've been playing Bernier in place of Miller for the past 3 weeks or so. Totally worth it.

**BUMP**

Anyone else have any thoughts?

Miller won last night, but it's the same crap. 4 goals against. Save percentage below .900.
Blah-blah-blah.

But evertime I get ready to drop him, I talk myself out of it...

On the FA wire:

Bernier
Markstrom... these 2 interest me.
------------
others:
Pavelec
Lehner
Vokoun

Is Miller a dropsie in a one year league for these options? I'll REP ya...

I think you are better off with Bernier. I am in a similar situation in that I have Miller and I am thinking about dropping him for Bernier. However in my league, we also have saves as a category.

In your case Miller is not going to get you a lot of wins but he is going to mess up your GAA and SV%. If you have the Boston duo and Bernier you should be in good shape.

I have been convinced Bernier will get moved for two years and think the time is right for him to get traded. If u wait u may lose him. In your situation I would take the chance and grab him now.
