Ok. Can't be that close though if Kunitz is for sure top-10 LW in your books
![]() Lucic is 9 years younger and gets a lot more PIM. Similar point production. I'd say Lucic is quite easily better in keeper leagues. In one-year leagues it would be close and Kunitz might even get the edge because of playing with Crosby.

This is like going to youtube to tell people they cant sing, but wont put up a video of their own to be criticized. This is a list of top 10 keepers. I just happen to think that Ovechkin has lost a lot of credibility over the past few years. I don't need to justify it, his numbers do that for me. I like others more in a keeper situation, including Bobby Ryan and Gabriel Landeskog. This is who I like more going forward, not who has produced what in the past. Geez, who crapped in your cornflakes.

You don't have to be a vocalist to be a music critic...
You don't want to value players based on past production which is fair enough. Rather than do that you are placing a high value on potential. Think AO can score 50 goals is also about potential, but he has done it already. This demonstrates it is physically and mentally possible for him. With the others it is guess work and my guess is.... no. Would you really trade AO for Landeskog straight up?

I have no doubt that Ovechkin has all the skill in the world. He has proven that. But the past few years all he has proven is that he is a middle of the road player and until things change for him, that's the way I see it. I'm not going to grant him any special status because of what he accomplished 3 years ago. Again this is simply my opinion. You don't have to agree with it. That's your prerogative. In a keeper rankings like Angus is developing, I like the younger guys with actual upside more so then a guy who is struggling, who's been there, done that and may never do it again. Theres always next years rankings and if Ovechkin can find a way to get his head on straight and return to the glory you think he still has then I have no issues eating crow and moving him back up the ladder. Right now, this is how I would choose them if I was going forward.

Here we go, tossing my hat into the ring again..
last years list: 1. Ovechkin 2. D Sedin 3. Kovalchuk 4. Parise 5. J Benn 6. B Ryan 7. Landeskog 8. Sharp 9. Eriksson 10. Hartnell I think its safe to say Sharp/Kovi/Benn have moved onto new positions from last years list, and I had already omitted Nash etc for the same positional reasons. 1. Ovechkin 2. Parise 3. D Sedin 4. Hall 5. Ryan 6. E Kane 7. Vanek 8. Landeskog 9. Lucic 10. Pacioretty Hard list this year, mainly because it seems like the LW quality has really thinned out due to injuries and positional changes. Couldn't bring myself to displace Ovechkin, even though he has certainly given me cause to do so, keeper value based of course.

From what I've seen, he usually lines up on the left side.

I believe this is correct.
The Hurricanes website at NHL.com actually does a really good job of keeping the lines updated with a visual. When active, he does show up on the LW. They have Skinner marked as a LW. I don't think I've seen the Canes play yet this season. Left wing, final answer. |

Sharp really doesn't get enough credit around here. I consistently see people rank Hartnell above him (Angus' list included) and I can't for the life of me understand. I went very in depth in a Hartnell vs. Sharp thread way back when and when you do a breakdown of the two, Sharp is the superior choice in almost every way. Won't go into that right now though. My top 10: 1) Ovechkin 2) Parise 3) D. Sedin 4) Hall 5) E. Kane 6) Ryan 7) Sharp 8) Landeskog 9) Marleau 10) Vanek HM: Patches, Hartnell, Lucic Assuming Skinner as RW. |
