Thought it would be good to start a list for these guys already.
Danny DeKeyser is the guy this year. All 30 teams wanted him last summer, but he decided to stay in school. Watch the video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=me6hDOX2Fu0 Andrej Sustr - a moster defender (6'08/203) who is a lock to get a contract somewhere. His teammate (Nebraska-Omaha) is Ryan Walters (see below) who leads the nation in scoring so that doesn't help. Sustr was at Lightning camp last summer, so Tampa may have the inside scoop. He is also very smart apparently. Ryan Walters - Usually these types of players are undersized, but like Sustr, Walters is 6'/196. He got things rolling since he was named player of the month in November. Collected 15 points in 7 November games and hasn't looked back since. He isn't the most sought after forward, but since he leads the country in scoring he should have a handful of teams interested. Rylan Schwartz - Yup, Jaden's older (2 years) brother. Both played at Colorado College and was the determining factor why Jaden went the NCAA (Colorado) route. During their time together, Rylan put up 78 points in 76 games compared to Jaden's 88 points in 60 games. They are both 'undersized', roughly 5'10/195 but Rylan is definitely the feistier player. Rylan has taken a step forward this year and is scoring at a 1.25ppg pace, up from 1.02 when he was playing with Jaden. I wouldn't be surprised if he ended up in St. Louis at all. I get the feeling the Schwartz family is very family oriented. Antoine Laganiere - 22 year old center from Yale. 6'4, 196. Just this past weekend actually, McKenzie tweeted that 'Yale frwd Antoine Laganiere is the player Mike Gillis and Laurence Gilman were scouting over wknd.' He attended the Canucks camp in 2011, but also participated in the Oilers and Penguins development camps too. A point a game player in college with his size is bound to attract attention. Im fairly certain he will get a contract. Don't have time for any more writeups right now but some more players to keep on eye on.... Forwards Drew LeBlanc Eriah Hayes Jeremy Langlois Defenders Steven Seigo Nate Schmidt Brendan Rempel Shayne Taker Spiro Goulakos (recently diagnosed with Hodgkin's disease, which would probably ruin his chances; sad story) Goalies Parker Milner Troy Grosenick Frank Slubowski Feel free to add some more names. |

With all the ties to the Red Wings, I still think that is where Dekeyser ends up. Heck they could get rid of some of the weak parts on there backend and get this guy a roster spot. Something that didn't look promising last season.
Parker Milner also attended Red Wings camp, it wouldn't surprise me if they took a shot on him. The organization has seemingly given up on McCollum and there is no future in Jordan Pearce. With Jake Paterson still eligible for junior next season, a new goalie prospect would be needed. |

It's Sustr's consistency that apparently have teams backing off. Anytime you can grab a FA like this tho, it's worth the gamble. I'd compare these guys to mid 2nd to 3rd rounders. |

Do you know how they are projected to be utilized in the NHL?

It all depends on who goes where, but keep the hype machine in check.
The only reason these guys get this much attention is because they are a free asset. Think of them as a early to mid 2nd rounder in the entry drafts. Saying that, in a year from now, I'd say DeKeyser will be the best to own....without a doubt. |

Does Hedman have a clause in his contract that guarantees that he is the tallest guy on the team?
