I got outbid a few times last night too.

I put in a $6 bid for Dillon... who went for $7.
Not a bad loss as Dallas is leading the NHL in games played (with 14) and actually plays one of the lighter NHL schedules over the next 3 weeks with just 9 games. This week plays VAN/CGY/VAN so it could be tough sledding for DAL production against VAN.

I grabbed Boucher (as insurance to Bryz)... insurance is always good if you aren't using a slot.

I also grabbed Zack Smith. Ottawa has a 4-game week and I'm expecting a grittier Ottawa team without their superstars. Plus, there are some fighters in their upcoming schedule against TOR/NJ/NYI/NYR. (Though NYR went from icing Rupp, Boyle, Bickel to icing none of those guys: Trade,Scratch,Scratch).

Boll is going to have a nice week. I tried to grab him two weeks ago specifically for this week. CBJ has 4 games against LA/PHX/ANA/DET. I've got Dorsett active for those games. I'm going FULL-GOON mode this week with Z.Smith, Dorsett, Matt Martin, and Kyle Clifford!

I'm getting a little worried... my lead is now down to 5.5pts... Rougie has established himself as a serious contender with a great goalie tandem: Quick/Anderson (+ Fasth). Hopefully Anderson dooms him.

Three of this weeks transactions were from me. Figure I need to upgrade my toughness and get rid of some dead weight (Markstrom and Johansen) to give me some weekly flexibility. Dillon will give me some hits on the back end and hopeful of some PIMs from Thornton as I'm sure he will mix it up tomorrow night against Buffalo. Emery was just a replacement over Markstrom.

On a different note, just noticed this page was still active as of yesterday. Excellent job Pengwin on giving a weekly synopsis of the league!

Our league is actually pretty tight in the standings.
For example,
Goals: 53-to-41 (2nd to 2nd last). 13point swing there.
Assists: 88-to-80 (1st to 10th). 9point swing there.
+/-: 9 to -11 (4th to last). 11point swing there.
Wins: 10 to 7 (4th to last). 11point swing there.

There's a lot of points that are being switched daily due to tight categories... and G/A/+-/W are some major ones.
So I think people are hesitant to shake up their team.
Nothing worse than bailing on players you drafted... only to see them start performing after you've dealt them. We all drafted our players for a reason.

I think we'll see more trade offers later in the season.

In ROTO, it's not until a bit later in the season where you start the thinking of:
"OK, I'm out of it in _____ category, so I might as well trade my players away and go for the really tight ____ category."

I just don't think our league has enough separation yet to start seeing trades.

I haven't been in many roto leagues, 1 to be exact - and the commish shut it down after one season.

I think you are correct in being worried about Rougie, he has Kesler coming back...............

hoping he sparks the PP and the Sedins!

Looks like we have a new leader for the first time ... Looks like those fears were realized.

On another note ... If you read this thread Scurvy ... I sent you an offer. Please respond.

My team has been trending downwards for two weeks.
I pretty much handed the lead over.

I've been over 110pts through February, as high as 120.
Today, 106. (Rougie at 107)
Yeesh.

I'm having a big day though already.
Bryz, 0GA, Win, 19 saves.
Varly, 5GA, Win, 33 saves.
That'll jump me from 9 to 11 wins... which is a +4pt move in the standings alone.

Clarkson 14 PIM
Martin 10 PIM
Lots of SOG. (which will be a tight-tight category)

Back to first place tomorrow.

It's going to be a tight-tight league.
Everybody has been bitten by some kind of goalie-bug.
