Yeah, that's certainly a concern. Maybe I am letting my desire to save money override some common sense here...hmm.

I might go with hockeystreams as an add-on to center ice and see how they compare - and if it works well, it will be my playoff solution I appreciate you putting them on my radar doulos.

Wow. At first I thought you were pulling my leg, then I googled it and sure enough they've written a Hockeystreams plugin for XBMC! I'm a huge fan of XBMC and I've got all our computers networked to share content with it and its just awesome. We don't even have TV anymore because why bother? I get my football over the air in HD with a little indoor antenna and a tuner card and I just pull it into XBMC with my other content. TV shows we just watch on Netflix or Hulu or often we'll just wait for a season to complete and get em all at once. I've tried multiple home theater setups over the years but this one is by far my favorite, thanks for the tip!

btw, which plugin did you use? there seems to be a couple different ones

they also archive games so you can go back and watch em after the fact...they also stream everything so you can watch international games, WJC (not a big deal if you live in Canada I know, but try getting it in the US!)

Except that you can freeze your account and roll over the extra months into next season. And no blackouts. And Memorial Cup etc.

I set it up this morning in anticipation of the games, it works like gangbusters so far (I put on some archived WJC games to test).

The plugin for xbmc is here:

It has support for wmv, istream and flash streams though currently hockeystreams only supports delivery of the first two thru their API so if the game is only available via flash then you'll have to watch it in your browser for now. I find the wmv feeds work the best so far. And I dunno if you have this setup yet but you can setup AdvLauncher as an XBMC plugin to launch external apps. So I have that setup to launch the browser for hulu and netflix. I also use nPVR for my live TV interface and I launch that the same way, it works well though I think they are rolling that into the newest xbmc release.

I'm on W7-64bit and running Eden 11.0 btw and currently the istreams aren't working for me, just wmv...maybe with Frodo it will, I dunno, what version are you on doulos?

I may be able to get gamecenter for free.

I for sure can get it on my iPhone free, just waiting for todays games to see if it works on the cpu.

I downloaded the free NHL gamecentre app for iPad, then upgraded to Live edition, but it's not showing any schedule, any games, etc. the only link working is to the NHL shop.

And it won't let me register for computer version.
