I agree with Fowler being the odd man out. Campbell is just too good in this format. Try to trade Fowler but don't sit too long on this and ultimately lose out on Shattenkirk.

Who are your forwards? Do you have any forwards that you can drop instead of a dman?

Your Defense has some good value and you could probably get some value out of trading them. I'd advise you to try and trade someone off your roster to make room for Shattenkirk, but in trying to do that someone else will probably grab Shattenkirk before you can get a deal done.

Go man go! Make some roster room and get him!

I think if you could drop a low-end forward you might come out on the plus side....who are your forwards?

If I HAD to drop someone, I think I'd drop Fowler...as a previous poster said, Campbell is only 32 and still has a bunch of good years left...and as you said, is a stud in your format.

How are you acquiring Shatts? is it via trade? What are you giving up?

Did what a previous poster recommended, and put my full team in my Signature, along with the points breakdown for the league.

I'd be picking up Shattenkirk off the waiver wire, but this league only allows one free agent pickup per year, so it would be burning my only pickup. I feel like I have to do it, but I'm not sure exactly where to make the room...

Wait a minute. Shattenkirk is an improvement over Fowler given the peripheral stats but since you ONLY HAVE ONE pick up per year, I'm not sure I'd use it on this upgrade. What other free agents are there? Are there other parts of your team that can improve more?

Especially now that I see you only have to start 3 D, I'd drop Fowler. At first glance, I also thought about Bozak or Read, as I think they'd be replaceable in a 10 team keeper....

Do you have max games per position?

If not, and you really want to use the move, I would probably drop Bozak as you'd have more use of a productive second bench D (3 start, 5 bench) than an average bench forward that may not play much at all (11 start, 6 bench).

If you have max games, the only pick up that would be worth it is for another D since you'd need to monitor your games played and too many bench would not be as efficient given it's your only move.

Just curious though, what other defensemen are available on FA? It might give us a better idea whether it's worth a pickup or not.

No max. games, I can start the same player every day if so choose...

I'll list the defencemen who are already taken, as obviously its a shorter list than those not taken:

Adam Larsson, Alex Goligoski, Alex Pietrangelo, Alexander Edler, Brent Burns, Brent Seabrook, Brian Campbell, Cam Fowler, Christian Ehrhoff, Dan Boyle, Dan Girardi, David Rundblad, Dennis Wideman, Dion Phaneuf, Drew Doughty,Duncan Keith, Erik Johnson, Erik Karlsson, Griffin Reinhart, Jack Johnson, James, Wisniewski, Jared Spurgeon, Jason Garrison, Joe Corvo, John Carlson, John-Michael Liles, Keith Yandle, Kris Letang, Lubomir Visnovsky, Luca Sbisa, Mark Giordano, Matt Carle, Michael Del Zotto, Mike Green, Nick Leddy, Nikita Nikitin, Niklas Kronwall, Oliver Ekman-Larsson, P.K. Subban, Raphael Diaz, Ryan Ellis, Ryan Murray, Ryan Suter, Shea Weber, Tobias Enstrom, Victor Hedman, Zdeno Chara

Notables on the waiver wire (other than Shattenkirk): Myers, Streit, M. Staal, Voynov.

The only obvious "missing" name to me is Dougie Hamilton, but he's ineligible for a Free Agent pickup, as this league doesn't allow Free Agents to be picked up until they turn 24 (I'm actually waiting on Shattenkirk's birthday in about a month to swoop in on him). Any player under 24 MUST be drafted in the annual Rookie Draft, or on his 24th birthday.

The only other Free Agent of note (to me) out there is Luongo, who was dropped by a guy who already had Quick and Smith, and couldn't find anyone to offer him much in the way of a trade. I know that he's an upgrade over Niemi, but I really don't want to have both him and Schneider at the same time.
