If you're asking other people to make a deal for you, it will NEVER get done because every single fantasy GM or fan views every single player differently. Someone cited all the different injuries Kesler has had - and he's had a lot - but none are of the "OMG, steer clear" variety. They're all shoulder, hip, bandaid boy stuff. Meanwhile, Letang missed time with two concussions last year. To me, that's far more concerning than a hip and/or shoulder injury. Head injuries are OMG, steer clear to me...particularly when you've had two in a one-season span. But other people clearly view that all differently. Toews and Letang may be more palatable -given their sortof matching concussion history. Yet, to me, I'd almost never give up Toews for Letang. Go figure. As a trained orthopedic surgeon there are certain msk injuries that worry me. Taylor Hall likely has a totally reconstructed shoulder that is not normal - i'd stay away. Kesler never returned to form after his hip surgery, and had a wrist ligament injury where he had trouble gripping his stick hard. The surgery for that - fixing the ligament doesn't always work great, or they have to fuse the bones in the wrist, making it stiffer and lose motion which would affect your wrist shot. Majority of his 40 goal season were wrist shots. Thats why I don't want to trade for an injured player. If healthy maybe I would if Kesler returned to form. ( there's a reason in real life GMs dont trade for injured players) Maybe I would consider Letang for Toews. Me and the other GM were looking for suggestions to help us get on the same page. This has helped somewhat. I have tried to trade with every team. The only ones I was able to make trades with were (1) replaced by another GM (2) the replacement GM who left after 2 days.

In My Opinion
O'reilly or Kesler for Letang or Buff is the only close trade I would consider All other Centers you have are worth more in a keep keep 12 league IMO. In two other keep 12 and 13 leagues I was in. Green wasnt a keeper and Oreilly and Kesler were. Most people seem to hold onto forwards and drop dmen in limited keepers. |

Not sure i'm crazy about trading for a 37th ranked C (O'Reilly) who was drafted in round 17 (#166) for any of my dmen. The 12-13 round difference in where they were drafted does account for how highly each is valued (at least by me). I could have picked him anytime over the 110-120 picks between where they were chosen. ****thanks for suggestions. Twall and I will wait until the season starts before trying to make a trade. Will rep where possible.

cdubb - not that my opinion matters a lot but if it's Letang to be moved for a quality C like Toews, I would probably sit on Letang.

I agree with O'Reilly, he looks more fringey in your league set up, There is a chance he does not even land on a scoring line this year, and even then he really only has 2nd line upside.
As argued above. If you cannot make a trade, then move onto making a trade with someone else. I have a buddy in a league and we both love to trade. We shoot offers back and forth about once a week (even in the lockout we have still shot some offers back and forth). In the end we really only make 2-3 trades a season. the offers are really just feelers to see what the other is looking for... i can honestly tell you who to target on his team since he is undervalueing them, and tell you who to avoid since he is in love with them.... he can likely tell you the same thing about me. Once in a while we exchange offers that actually get us both interested and we have some discussion about it, and even more rare we actually work out a trade. Moral of the story, not every offer turns into trade talks, and even fewer actually turn into a trade. Do not just make a trade since you feel like you put too much time into trade talks.

Letang, Buff, Chara, Green, Yandle are the D available.
Tavares, Spezza, Toews are the Cs available. Any C lower than that are not in the conversation unless they are just the plus in a bigger trade. The team wanting D does not value Letang fully because of injuries, so he's out. So is Green. Buff/Chara/Yandle vs Tavares/Spezza/Toews Narrows down to 3 choices a side, and the rest is personal opinion. My personal opinion is that I wouldnt want Buff or Spezza....so why not just swap those 2
