Fantasy Guide is updated through September 01. At the end of the Anaheim Ducks section, there is a 60% off coupon code to pick up the DobberFootball fantasy guide and/or playbook. It makes the football stuff cost less than "chump change".
Here it is - my Puck Daddy piece on the free agents.
Chris Nichols had a fantastic ramblings yesterday. If you missed it, check it out here. It certainly puts my ramblings today to shame. I spent two hours going over my newsfeed, and found nothing that inspired me to ramble - lots of CBA chatter, and some buzz about the NBC TV schedule - but why bother discussing that when the NHL schedule will be changed thanks to a reduced season.
Skating tomorrow in St. Louis for the first time - Vladimir Tarasenko, who apparently has the nickname "The Tank". So there you go. Wasn't that Andrei Kovalenko's nickname too?
The Hockey Writers takes a look at trends since the last lockout. Of interest - the last four teams to win the Stanley Cup had at least one sub-30-win season since the lockout. It indicates that times needed to bad before they got better, i.e. "rebuilds" do work sometimes.
Wild prospect Mario Lucia suffered a broken leg last week and will be sidelined for three months. He is slated to go to Notre Dame. He should be okay by the time the WJC kicks off.
In case you missed my series on Puck Daddy over the past week, here are the links:
The final piece, on free agents, will be out today, I'll post the link here when it's up.
I'll polish up the September rankings today. It'll give you something hockey related to read during these hellish non-hockey days.
Watch this video - anti-lockout, very well put together. Powerful:
And another EA Sports clip, this one about creating the ultimate team:
