Fantasy Impact: The Montreal Canadiens have signed winger Brandon Prust to a four-year deal worth $10 million.
The Habs get: a gritty winger with decent hands, considering his role. Prust loves to hit (144 last year) and he can kill penalties.
Fantasy Players Impacted: One season after posting 29 points and 160 penalty minutes, Prust disappointed with just 17 points, 156 PIM and was a minus-player. On the Habs, the penalty minutes are bound to pick up, as his ice will increase to compensate for the dollars. Gotta make the dollars worth it.
His arrival will hurt Blake Geoffrion's ice time and cripple Brendan Gallagher's odds of making the team.
Fantasy Players this helps, in order: 1. Prust, but only for PIM
Fantasy Players this hurts, in order: 1. Geoffrion 2. Gallagher 3. Aaron Palushaj 4. Louis Leblanc

Ryan White This hurts him the most. He'll see lots of press box time with Prust around to hurl his fists. |
