Fantasy Impact: The Phoenix Coyotes have signed forward David Moss to a two-year contract. Phoenix's medical staff rejoices...
Phoenix gets: a Band-Aid Boy winger whose upside has taken a massive hit as a result of so many injuries over the past several years. He's big, he's strong and he plays hard - which often puts him on the shelf. In his only full NHL season he scored 20 goals. But he missed 18 games three seasons ago, 24 games two seasons ago and 50 games last year.
Fantasy Players Impacted: Shane Doan's replacement? Maybe if he rarely got hurt and was able to reach his upside. Maybe. But that didn't happen, so the point is moot. The Coyotes should consider themselves lucky if he plays 60 games and gets 35 points. So Raffi Torres' replacement is more apt. But he's a winger, so any winger trying desperately to crack the lineup is hurt by this signing. Namely, Brett MacLean
