The Western Conference is down to four teams, and two Game 7’s remain in the East. Here is who is hurting.
Eastern Conference Boston Bruins
Adam McQuaid, Defense – Eye – Day-to-Day McQuaid is still recovering from a head/eye injury and did not play in game seven.
Florida Panthers
Jose Theodore, Goal – Lower Body – Day-to-Day Theodore was a late injury scratch from game six. No disclosure on the nature of the injury, suffice to say he has suffered from knee injuries this season that cost him to miss nine games. Theodore was on the ice for an optional team practice on Wednesday afternoon a day before game seven.
Jason Garrison, Defense – Lower body injury Garrison was not able to play in game six due to an undisclosed lower body injury, but word is he was very close and is expected for Thursday’s game seven. Garrison also took part in an optional team practice on Wednesday. He has missed the last three games now.
Keaton Ellerby, Defense –Undisclosed – Day-to-Day Ellerby has been skating since Monday ad did travel with the team to New Jersey for game six but was a game time scratch.
New Jersey Devils
Jacob Josefson, Center – Wrist Fracture – Week-to-Week Josefson has been wearing a cast on his wrist and recently had it replaced with a smaller more mobile cast. Could be available at a point in the second round should the Devils advance.
New York Rangers
Ryan Callahan, Wing – Finger – Day-to-Day The Rangers Captain injured his finger in game six in Ottawa. He did not take the team Practice on Wednesday. It is unlikely a finger injury would keep Callahan out of a game seven.
Brian Boyle, Wing – Concussion – Day-to-Day Boyle was unable to practice on the ice Wednesday with the team. Following typical concussion protocol he should not be available for game seven, but it’s the playoffs so anything is possible.
Ottawa Senators
Jesse Winchester, Wing – Concussion – Day-to-Day Out since game five where he was replaced by Mark Stone, Winchester has a suspected concussion and will not play in game seven. Either Stone or Jakub Silfverberg are expected replacements.
Philadelphia Flyers
The Flyers early dispatch of the Pittsburgh Penguins has allowed for some healing and recovery and both Nicklas Grossmann, and Andreji Meszaros have returned to practice on the ice with the team and could be ready for game one, round two.
Western Conference
Los Angeles Kings
Kyle Clifford, Wing – Upper Body Clifford was on the ice on Tuesday for Kings practice wearing a red non-contact jersey.
Nashville Predators
Hal Gill, Defense – Lower Body – Returning for game one Gill missed the entire first round series, but is ready for game one of the second round.
Phoenix Coyotes
Michal Rozsival, Defense – Undisclosed – Day-to-Day Rozsival was the recipient of a dangerous boarding hit from Chicago’s Jimmy Hayes. Hayes received five and the game, while Rozsival also left the game and did not return.
St. Louis Blues
